The Baltimore County Public Library is accepting donations of formalwear for “Prom Closet,” a one-day event where teens can take dress clothes home for free.
The goal of this event is to get prom clothes into the hands of high school students who may otherwise not be able to afford to attend their end-of-year dances.
Gently used dresses of all sizes, along with suits, dress shirts, ties, shoes and other accessories are being accepted.
The branches will accept donations through March 22, 2019.
Prom Closet will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Owings Mills Branch. Teens will be able to try on clothing and leave with one free ensemble.
Donations can be dropped off at all 19 Baltimore County Public Library branches. Each location has a bin on display with “Prom Closet” signage.
